Volunteer Workdays
Spend the morning working next to the Los Angeles River on the City of Glendale's Riverwalk. We need volunteers to help us remove invasive plants from the landscaped areas along the L.A. River. Please wear sturdy shoes, protective clothing, and bring water. We'll provide the tools and gloves. Families, individuals, clubs, and students needing community service hours are welcome. In case of rain, this event will be cancelled.

Join the Glendale Parks & Open Space Foundation for an exciting end-of-fall volunteer opportunity to plant 15 new trees at Glendale Narrows Riverwalk!
Please bring gloves, and your own reusable water bottle. Please wear closed-toe shoes!

Do you believe the number 13 is unlucky? Or a cracked mirror brings seven years of bad luck? Join our night hike as we explore superstitions and their origins. This is a family friendly hike on moderately steep trails. Bring water and flashlights. We have the red covers for your flashlight. Space is limited. Please RSVP.
Join Adobes in Southern California author Wayne Stinson, who will share historical photos, facts, and trivia of the adobes from Ventura to San Juan Capistrano. Learn something new about Catalina Verdugo Adobe and Casa Adobe de San Rafael right here in Glendale! Space is limited. Please RSVP.
Spend some quality family time enjoying the great outdoors once a month! We invite the public to join us for an interpretive hike in Deukmejian Wilderness Park, a nature craft, nature themed games, and a tour of the Stone Barn Nature Center. We will provide water, snacks and bus transportation from Pacific Community Center, leaving at 8:30 a.m. and returning at 12:30 p.m.
*Program time begins at 9:00 a.m. at Deukmejian Wilderness Park. If you choose to meet at the park, please arrive by 8:45 a.m. The program ends at 12:00 p.m., and bus riders will return to Pacific Community Center by 12:30 p.m. Important information:
- A FREE bus leaves from Pacific Community Center, 501 S. Pacific Avenue, at 8:30 a.m. and returns at 12:30 p.m.
- Everyone is encouraged to ride the bus! Please arrive by 8:00 a.m. to check-in with the staff if you are riding the bus with us.
- Please wear sturdy shoes, long pants, and a hat or cap.
- Adult supervision is required! One adult for every three children 17 and under is required.

Improvements are underway for Brand Park Motorway. During construction, please use caution while on the trails, and be mindful of notices alerting the public to any potential closures. Be safe!

Nature center is available for rental with or without the displays in place.
