To preserve our reliable infrastructure and continue the City’s pursuit of green initiatives, Glendale Water and Power is currently working on several initiatives and critical capital improvement projects, including:
- City Solar Energy & Storage Projects
- Scholl Canyon Renewable Biogas Project
- Grayson Energy Center Transformation Project
- Distribution System for Building Electrification and Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging
- 4kV to 12 kV Conversion of Distribution Lines

Being water conscious in and around our homes, businesses, schools and landscapes is part of our So Cal way of life. We’ve been lucky enough to get rain in Glendale lately, but that doesn’t mean the water supply shortage is over. GWP will remain in Phase III of the Mandatory Water Conservation Ordinance, which limits outside watering to two days a week: Tuesday’s and Saturday’s for no more than 10 minutes at each watering station.
Water Conservation Tips:
-
Keep sprinklers off for at least 2 days after it rains.
-
Wash full loads in the dishwasher or washing machine.
-
Install a low-flow showerhead. You can purchase one from our new marketplace by clicking here.
-
Use a nozzle on your hose when washing your car.
-
Repair leaks, replace damaged sprinkler heads, and adjust sprinklers to avoid over-spray.
-
Use mulch under trees and plants to retain moisture.
-
Water early in the morning or late at night.

Running medical equipment around the clock can get expensive and raise electric bills each month. The Guardian Program provides monthly bill discounts to customers who have household members using lifesaving medical equipment or suffering from afflictions that require special space conditioning.
