2022 Consumer Confidence Report

The 2022 Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) or Water Quality Report is now available to view online and provides important water quality information on the water we delivered to you in 2022. It informs customers about the quality of their drinking water, its source, and the efforts involved in delivering it to their homes. We are proud to provide safe, clean water that our customers can trust.

If you prefer a hard copy, email GWPConservation@glendaleca.gov to request one be mailed to your home. To view the report online, click on the button  below.

We are excited to be a part of Glendale's summer events, to provide water and energy saving resources, fun activities for kids and engage with the community.

Be sure to visit our booth at Glendale's Cruise Night event Saturday, July 15, from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Brand Blvd.

GWP will also have a booth at the Summer Concerts in the Parks. Come say hello and learn about our programs and services. 

Student Art Contest Winners!

1st Place Winner, Sophia Doh, a 3rd grade student from Monte Vista Elementary! 

We are thrilled to announce the winners of this year's "Being Water Wise Is..." Art Contest, which received an impressive number of creative submissions. Glendale students created stunning art that showcased their commitment to water conservation.

Sophia Doh, a 3rd grade student from Monte Vista Elementary School, took first place. Sophia's artwork detail was truly stunning and captured the essence of our theme perfectly.

Jaden Zheng, a 6th grade student from Fremont Elementary School, came in second place! And Yoomin Lee, a 10th grade student from Crescenta Valley High School, came in third place!

A total of 13 entries were selected by GWP and submitted to Metropolitan Water District (MWD) for a final round of competition. Click on the button below to enjoy the winners' gallery.

Summer Readiness - Conserve Energy

The Grayson Power Plant, which provided local power to Glendale for over 80 years, was decommissioned to make way for the new Grayson Energy Center. This repowering project is necessary for long-term reliability but may cause temporary energy shortfalls, especially during summer months. Glendale is taking measures to mitigate issues and asks for customer support in times of increased demand.

This summer, it’s essential that we manage our energy consumption responsibly and efficiently. Lower the strain on the power grid when you hear us issuing a Peak Alert and conserve energy as much as possible to avoid rolling outages. Try these simple tips to conserve energy. 

• Turn up the thermostat to 78 degrees when you are home, or 80 degrees when not home, keeping the safety of pets and family members in mind.
• Turn off unnecessary lights and unplug appliances/devices not in use.
• Purchase a Smart Thermostat to control temperatures using your phone or tablet and enroll in our Peak Savings Demand Response Program 
• Avoid using energy-intensive appliances such as dishwashers, washing machines, dryers, or charging your Electric Vehicle
  before 9:00 PM.
• Close all shades, blinds and curtains to keep rooms cool.
• Use ceiling fans or personal fans as
  much as possible. 
• Replace old air filters to keep your AC running efficiently. 

Integrated Resource Plan Townhall - July 24

Join GWP in shaping Glendale's energy future by participating in the second IRP Townhall meeting on July 24, 2023 from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., at the Sparr Heights Community Center (1613 Glencoe Way, 91208).

GWP's 2024 Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) outlines Glendale's energy needs and the resources we can use to meet them for the next 20 years.

Free Home Upgrades to Help You Save Money!

Make your home more energy and water efficient with GWP’s Smart Home Upgrade program. This program helps residential customers save energy and water through a free home survey to identify potential energy and water efficiency upgrades, and the installation of free energy and water saving devices. Renters and homeowners qualify for this free program.

How to Report Power or Water Outages

Experiencing a power or water outage? Before reporting the outage, check our Live Outage Map. If the outage you are experiencing is not on the live outage map, below are three ways to report an outage.

1. Visit our website and click “Report an Outage” to easily report the outage online.
2. Enroll in Outage Text Alerts. Once enrolled, simply text OUT to 1-855-550-4497 to report a power outage and text WATER to report a water outage.
3. Call 1-855-550-4497 to report the outage.

Electric Bicycle Rebate

This program provides a rebate of $300 for residential customers who purchase an electric bicycle. Customers enrolled in GWP’s Glendale Care or Senior Care program can receive a rebate of $400.

By taking advantage of this rebate program, residents can save money and reduce their carbon footprint. It's a win-win for both individuals and the environment!

Electric Bill Discounts

GWP offers four public benefit programs to provide electric bill discounts to eligible customers.

• Glendale Care - Income-qualified customers may be eligible to receive a monthly discount of $17.50 discount on the GWP electric bill, or $35 on a bi-monthly bill.
• Guardian - Running medical equipment around-the-clock can get expensive. This program provides monthly bill discounts to customers who have household members using qualified doctor prescribed medical equipment or are suffering from afflictions requiring special space conditioning.
• UUTE - The Utility Users Tax is charged to all users of electricity, water, gas, telephone, and cable services within the City of Glendale. GWP offers two types of exemptions, senior and disabled.
• Helping Hand - This Program assists eligible income-qualified customers who are experiencing a temporary financial emergency and having trouble paying for their utility services by providing $150 towards a bill payment or deposit.
