Film, Health, and a Job Fair This Week @FPL!
City of Fullerton sent this bulletin at 03/30/2014 12:00 PM PDTOur Independent Film series continues on Wednesday night with Much Ado About Nothing (2013). The screening will take place on April 2 at 6:00 pm in the Osborne Auditorium. No registration is required.
And don’t forget that our Thursday Matinees film series offers a free classic movie each week! For March, our theme is “Shhh! - The Hollywood Librarian.” This week’s film is National Treasure (2004). The screening will take place on April 3 at 1:00 pm in the Osborne Auditorium. No registration is required.
Also on April 3, the library will host a special OLLI/CSUF Health talk entitled, “Healthy Heart Supplements: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.” The presentation at the library will be led by John Zamarra M.D., a Fullerton cardiologist and preventative health specialist. The program starts at 8:30 am in the Community Room. No registration is required.
On April 5, come to FPL's First Job Fair sponsored by Fullerton Sunrise Rotary Club!
Pre-registration begins at 9:30, come early to sign up for your mock interview and resume review appointment times. Appointment spaces are limited, so arrive early for best selection!
We start with a panel discussion at 10 am in the Osborne Auditorium with job experts from Orange County One Stop Center, Anaheim Workforce Development, Employment Development Department's Youth Employment Opportunity Program, and YWCA's Youth Employment Service. They'll discuss job hunting in today's economy, what to do if you're not a STEM person, how do you get the foot in the door and more!
A to Z Database will then follow with a 15 minute presentation of how their free database can help you find your next job.
The First Job Fair really gets going at 11:15 in the Community Room. Bring your resume and come dressed to impress because we have resume review and mock interviews to ensure that when you meet your next employer, you'll be ready.
