Fire Department's New Captains

In Addition to the exciting news of the first ever fire department annual report. There have been two new members of the Fullerton Fire Department which have been promoted from Engineer paramedics to Captain Paramedics. These two men are; Michael Longeuay and Darren Sylvester.

Michael Longeuay (left) has been with the fire department for 15 years. Longeuay started in December, 2006. Darren Sylvester (right) has been with the fire department for 17 years.Sylvester started in August, 2004.

Summer Reading Programs

SUMMER READING PROGRAM 2021 June 1 – August 14

Young readers through 8th grade can join the reading program. Babies, toddlers, and preschoolers are also invited to join the fun! Readers earn prizes by keeping track of time spent reading independently or sharing library books with their favorite grownups. Age-appropriate prizes are awarded. TEEN SUMMER READING PROGRAM 2021 June 1 – August 14

Readers 13-17 can join the Teen “Reading Colors Your World” Summer Reading Program. Readers earn prizes by keeping track of time spent reading.  Pick up a tracker bookmark or sign up online to track your reading. SUMMER READING FOR GROWN-UPS 2021 June 1 – August 14

Why should kids have all the fun this summer? Participate in the “Reading Colors Your World” Summer Reading experience by writing short reviews of the books you read. The broad motif of “colors” provides a context for exploring humanity, nature, culture, and science, as well as demonstrating how libraries and reading can expand your world through kindness, growth, and community. Every book review you return to the library is a chance to win a fun prize in our exciting weekly drawings just for the grown-ups! Reviews will be posted inside the library and on FPL’s social media. The Fullerton Public Library invites all kids to explore the new STEM kits for free, Starting June 15th.

FEED!

We are excited to announce that Feed Fullerton is back!  This program connects low-income families with local restaurants recovering from the pandemic. Our goal is to connect 500 households with 24 vouchers each. These vouchers can be redeemed for meals at any of our participating restaurants. CRAFT!

Creativity is calling!  The Community Center’s unique series Art at Home features drawing, painting, sculpture, DIY, collage, and artsy home décor. Much more than just an art kit, Art at Home includes all materials, a mini museum lesson, written instructions, and video tutorials. Our June 15 project is Polymer Clay refrigerator magnets.  All materials are provided!
