COVID-19 Updates


State Expands Vaccine Eligibility to Those 50 and Older Starting April 1st

vaccine Californians 50+ will be eligible for vaccination starting April 1. Every Californian 16 and up will be eligible for vaccination on April 15, 2021.

Do you know where you can get vaccinated? According to the OC Healthcare Agency there are over 408,443 fully vaccinated residents in Orange County as of March 18th, 2021. We understand the difficulty it can be finding an appointment. These are the following places offering vaccinations:

  • Kaiser Permanente
  • OC Healthcare Agency
  • Hoag Memorial Hospital
  • CVS
  • Rite Aid
  • Walgreens

This are just a few locations where those eligible can receive vaccinations. If you would like a complete list of all distribution channels please visit the OC Healthcare Agency website here.

Orange County Guidance for Red Tier

Orange County is currently in Red Tier with an anticipated move into Orange Tier by next week. 

  • Restaurants can now offer indoor dining with modifications. Indoor dining must be limited to 25% capacity or 100 people, whichever is fewer.
  • Movie theaters can also offer indoor operations limited to 25% capacity or 100 people, whichever is fewer
  • Fitness centers may open at 10% capacity; however, indoor pools, spas, saunas shall remain closed.

Short-Term Rental Use Update

The Planning Commission will be considering amendments to the City of Fullerton Municipal Code regarding the regulation of short-term rental uses in residential zones citywide at its meeting on March 31, 2021.  This meeting is virtual (via Zoom) but members of the public are encouraged to attend either by phone on online. The Planning Commission's action will be to make a recommendation to the City Council for their consideration at a future public hearing. The City Council had previously approved an Ordinance regulating short-term rentals in November 2020.  The proposed amendments will prohibit properties from offering whole-house short-term rentals where the property owner is not living at the property.


Small Business Emergency Assistance Program

Loan Do you run a small business? Was your business affected by COVID-19? If so the City of Fullerton is here to help.

Small businesses may be eligible to receive up to $20,000. Application and eligibility requirements are now posted. Be sure to apply by April 13th.

Parking Enforcement Issuing Warnings 

warnings The City will resume regular parking enforcement on April 5th. Warnings are currently being issued through Sunday, April 4th, 2021.

Outdoor Fitness Classes are Starting

The Fullerton Community Center has released the new outdoor fitness classes schedule. Classes will begin Saturday, March 27th and will last four weeks. Prices will range from $20 or $25 depending whether or not you are a Fullerton resident.

As of now there are three classes to choose from:

  • Zumba
  • Yoga
  • LIIT

If you are looking to enroll please visit the Fullerton Community Center website. Capacity is limited.

Live Local

Fullerton businesses are invited to participate in a new program designed to promote business and get people out walking. Live Local, a collaborative effort between the City, St. Jude Heritage Foundation, and the North Orange County Chamber of Commerce, is launching with a video series highlighting walkable areas with unique Fullerton retail, dining, and service offerings. Get out and explore the community on monthly video-guided walks! This month’s topic is the Juanita Cooke Trail, the most popular trail in Fullerton. Join host Aimee Aul as she follows the 2.5-mile route that used to be part of Henry Huntington’s fabled Red Car system. Past Fullerton on Foot tours are still available and include the civic Center, New Deal Fullerton, Fullerton Mysteries, and more. Tours are designed with seniors in mind and are an easy to moderate 30—45 minute walk.

Follow our very own Ester Zepeda (the "EZ" in "Cooking Made EZ"!) as she leads you through nutritious and delicious recipes to make at home.
