Pearl Park Improvements Complete

On Thursday, February 4th the City Council held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly dedicated Pearl Park.  This was an exciting culmination to a long process to secure 33 undivided interest parcels in a former common area lot in the “Gem Street” neighborhood. This effort, funded through Proposition 68 Funds, community grants, and some park development fees is an example of how partnerships between the City and Community organizations and securing grant funding can make exciting things happen.  Parks Make Life Better – and the residents of the Gem Streets will now experience that.

Tips to Manage Natural Gas Bills this Winter

Natural gas usage can increase three to seven times during the winter months compared to the summer season, which can lead to higher bills. SoCalGas has created a step by step guide on how to manage your increased usage of natural gas this winter. One of the easiest tips they mention is conservation:

  • Set the thermostat to 68 degrees or lower, health permitting
  • Use cold water for laundry
  • Shorten the time for hot showers
