Coronavirus Updates

Registering for the COVID-19 Vaccine

Othena

Vaccinations are by appointment only. All residents interested in being vaccinated are encouraged to register at www.Othena.com to be notified when there are appointments available.

Eligible individuals who registered for a vaccine may not be able to immediately receive an appointment since there are many more people than available doses of vaccine. Here are some facts about registering:

  • Simply register at othena.com to be placed in a "digital waiting room".
  •  Appointment notifications to those in the "digital waiting room" will be prioritized based on factors including age, time of registration, and available vaccine supply.
  • Eligible individuals will be notified to schedule an appointment by email or notification through the Othena app; those individuals are advised to regularly monitor their email and the Othena app for updates.

Questions? Contact OC Health Care Agency at (714) 834-2000 or email Othena's support team at support@compositeapps.net

State Eviction Moratorium Extended. Help Provided for Tenants and Small Property Owners.

Last week, Governor Newsom signed legislation to extend the state's eviction moratorium through June 30, 2021.

The legislation pauses evictions for tenants who declare under penalty or perjury an inability to pay all or part of the rent due to a COVID-related reason. Tenants are still responsible for paying unpaid amounts to property owners, but those unpaid amounts cannot be the basis for eviction, even after the moratorium ends.

The legislation also establishes the State Rental Assistance Program to allocate the $2.6 billion in federal rental assistance California will receive. The program will target aid to income-qualified tenants most at-risk with unpaid back rent. Assistance will also be extended to property owners who agree to waive 20 percent of unpaid rent.

City Releases Annual Fiscal Year-End Community Report

community report

In an effort to keep the community informed on how tax dollars are being spent, the City is pleased to present the Fiscal Year 2019-20 Community Report, also known as the Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR).

The Community Report is a summary of the financial activities of the City's government funds and was drawn from information found in the corresponding Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). Unlike the CAFR, which is a thorough and detailed look at Fullerton's financial operations, the Community Report provides a holistic view of the City's revenues, expenditures, and explains how the city uses taxpayer money to address the needs of its residents regarding the City's most pressing issues.

Both the 11-page Community Report and 154-page CAFR are available on the City's website.

tree trimming

Who Takes Care of Fullerton Trees?

Did you know that the City is responsible for trimming, removing, and planting 40,000+ City-owned trees in the public rights-of-way such as parks, greenbelts, medians, public parking lots, recreational trails, and other public grounds?  In partnership with our contractor, West Coast Arborists, the Fullerton Public Works team performs scheduled, on-request, and emergency pruning services.

With careful planning, the City ensures to get maximum benefits from its trees with minimum hazard, maintenance, and cost. This program is supported by Sanitation Fees paid by residents and businesses. In the last six months alone, our team completed 6,233 tree trimmings throughout the City and responded to emergencies as a result of rainstorms and heavy winds.

The Public Works team is also making headway on the Urban Forestry Improvement Project. The multi-year project aims to plant over 500 trees and was kickstarted with the planting of 10 trees on the campus of Cal State Fullerton.

To report a  tree or bush that is obstructing the public right of way, call 714-738-6897.
