At this year's State of the City address, Mayor Salwan conveyed the unprecedented surge in advanced manufacturing, emphasizing this past year's industrial activity as exceptional and positions the city as a national center for building the future. With 70% of all regional manufacturing leases landing in Fremont in 2025, seven of the world’s top AI server makers operating locally, and major expansions from companies across robotics, clean energy, life sciences, and next‑generation mobility, Mayor Salwan underscored that every square foot leased translates into jobs, opportunity, and a stronger tax base that funds core community services.
His speech also showcased more than $1 billion in grid and utility investments that doubled electrical capacity, enabling Fremont to stay ahead of national power shortages while supporting continued growth. Paired with workforce pipelines through schools, colleges, and regional partners, a revitalizing Downtown, and thriving small businesses, Mayor Salwan framed Fremont as a city intentionally building prosperity for the next generation, and leading America’s resurgence in advanced manufacturing.

A fireside chat with Innovate Bay founder Rahan Brown underscored Fremont’s emerging potential as a startup hub, particularly for hardware driven innovation, while a panel with CBRE Executive Vice President Matt Taylor, Fremont Economic Development Director Donovan Lazaro, and Lam Research’s Director of Global Government Affairs Vartan Djihanian emphasized rising AI-driven demand, the increasing importance of energy and infrastructure, and the City’s role as a center for advanced manufacturing.
Fremont continues to solidify its position as a national hub for advanced manufacturing, spanning physical intelligence and robotics, AI infrastructure, batteries, and next‑generation aviation. With a robust development pipeline, including Prologis’ Bayside 55 project, strong industrial and Downtown retail leasing activity, and nearly $1 billion in projects underway, Fremont remains a place where the future gets engineered, manufactured, and delivered.

 East Bay Manufacturing Roundtable
On May 20, manufacturing leaders from across the Bay Area convened in Fremont for a collaborative discussion focused on strengthening the region’s manufacturing ecosystem. Hosted in partnership with the Association of Manufacturers Bay Area, East Bay Economic Development Alliance, East Bay Works, and the California Jobs First Initiative, participants explored strategies to advance workforce development, strengthen business-to-business connections, and address key policy priorities. The event brought together industry executives and regional partners to identify solutions and opportunities that support the continued growth and competitiveness of Bay Area manufacturing.
Join us at the annual Fremont Festival of the Arts on Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm in Downtown Fremont! The Festival is produced by the Fremont Chamber of Commerce.

The Fremont 4th of July Parade takes place this Saturday! Don't miss the celebration of community, culture, and patriotism! With marching bands, colorful floats, community groups, and a festive after party full of food trucks, music, and fun, it’s a day the whole family will love.
The event starts at 10:00 am near the Fremont Main Library & ends at City Hall.
The Fremont concert is in full swing! The Niles Summer Concert's on the Plaza takes place in Historic Niles hosted by the Niles Main Street Association. Their concert series takes place on the second Saturday of each month through October. The next concert takes place on July 11 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
Tonight, the City of Fremont’s Summer Concert Series takes place at Central Park and will take place weekly on Thursday evenings through July.
Lastly, the Pacific Commons Summer Concert Series is back with the next concert on July 24 at The Block Plaza, and takes place nearly every Friday through September!
