Pebble,a California startup, just announced Fremont, CA, as their new global headquarters and manufacturing center! Led by veterans of Apple, Tesla, and Rivian, Pebble is changing how people travel with their all-electric RV, the Pebble Flow, which makes RVing easier and more fun. Located within a 60K square-foot facility in Fremont’s Bayside Technology Park, the new space will help them grow their team and begin production and shipping of Pebble RVs to eager customers. Pebble’s goal is to fix the common pain points of conventional RVs by employing technology that makes travel simple and enjoyable.

The City of Fremont recently met with Prologis at their Milpitas regional office and San Francisco Pier 1 headquarters. The Prologis team expressed their enjoyment working in Fremont, which is home to a world-class cluster of advanced manufacturing companies and benefits from ample opportunities for infill redevelopment. As the global leader in industrial real estate, Prologis values Fremont's favorable business environment and collaborative approach to facilitating the growth of its industrial sector.
ED Staff recently attended the California Battery Manufacturing Summit, which took place on September 18-19 at the David Brower Center in Berkeley. Industry leaders, researchers, and community representatives came together to discuss the challenges and opportunities of reshoring next-generation battery manufacturing, a relevant discussion for Fremont given its role as leading hub for battery technology development. Topics included the critical role of innovation, the importance of regional investments in battery supply chains, and the need for workforce development. The event provided valuable insights through plenary sessions, breakout tracks, and a policy roundtable, fostering collaboration across sectors.
On Wednesday, September 25, the East Bay Economic Development Association hosted its 2024 Economic Outlook and Membership Meeting at the Lafayette Veterans Memorial Center. Alexander Quinn, Senior Director of Northern California Research at JLL, delivered an insightful presentation on the East Bay's real estate market and the broader state of the local economy. The event covered key topics, including inflation, real estate trends, and development patterns in the Bay Area compared to the rest of the nation. The main takeaways: the Bay Area continues to demonstrate economic resilience, with Fremont showing particularly strong performance within the East Bay market.
