Headquartered in Fremont, Tilt Five offers a cutting-edge augmented reality (AR) gaming system and experience, where players interact with the game using a wand-like controller. Images are projected onto a board in real time, creating an immersive gaming experience. The system also has the potential to be used for educational and industrial purposes through interactive holographic displays, including as a visualization tool for computer-aided design (CAD). Just for fun, Tilt Five also hosts one of the largest private collections of historic gaming consoles—including dozens that were not commercially successful—and often hosts happy hour meetups for gaming enthusiasts.
As AR technology continues to advance, Tilt Five’s veteran team is well positioned to emerge at the forefront of the industry. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for this exciting company!

Amy Davis, Owner of Banter Bookshop
Q: Tell us a bit about yourself and where your passion for literature began?
Amy: My name is Amy Davis, and I grew up here in the Bay Area. I moved to Fremont after college in 1998 and have been here ever since. My passion for literature and reading started at a very young age, around first or second grade. I would read through every book that my elementary school had. I have always found that literature and reading centers me and brings me peace.
Q: Is this your first time starting a business?
Amy: This is definitely my first time starting a business. Back before I pursued opening a book shop, I was an attorney for about five years and then stepped away to be with my daughters for about 15 years. I then decided to go for it and pursue the dream of opening up a book shop.
Q: Why did you choose to locate in Downtown Fremont?
Amy: I was thrilled to have the opportunity to locate in Downtown Fremont. As a longtime resident, I have been hearing about this project for years and when I toured the space and saw the potential, I was so excited! The space is very modern, and I love being so close to the Downtown Event Center. We are already seeing the positive impacts of being close to the activities and big events that are going on at the Center. We are very excited to see all the opportunities that are going to flow from having all the Downtown space rented out, as well as having Fremont Bank opening soon.
Q: How has your experience been working with the City?
Amy: The city was nothing but helpful for me and was always a phone call away. The Economic Development Department was right there with me and for me. They always answered my questions and kept me on my timeline. I can't say enough good things about the city and their partnership in getting the store open in a timely fashion. I am really proud to have partnered with them in getting our doors open.
