4. Groundbreaking for Applied Materials’ New Wafer Fab. Applied Materials is designing a next-generation wafer processing lab in Fremont’s Bayside Technology Park. As previously reported, this project will be integral to advancing US competitiveness in semiconductors and onshoring this critical supply chain and a boon for Fremont’s economy.
5. New Shops and Housing at The Hub. Kimco Realty plans to infuse new life into The Hub in Downtown Fremont, proposing to build over 300 residential units and 27,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space to welcome new shops and restaurants. The project will effectively extend Downtown’s bourgeoning retail spine along Capitol Ave into The Hub.

6. Full Leasing of Prologis Fremont. For the first time in its history, Prologis in on the verge of fully leasing its expansive, 54-building, 4.4-million-square-foot Fremont portfolio. The company was an early investor in Bayside Technology Park, and its longstanding commitment to the City has allowed Prologis to capitalize on Fremont’s advanced manufacturing growth.
7. Groundbreaking on Bayside Gateway. 9th Street Partners and Clarion Partners have partnered on a speculative six-building advanced manufacturing campus in Fremont’s Bayside Technology Park, slated to break ground in early 2023. Once completed, the project will provide over 400,000 square feet of next generation manufacturing and R&D space.
8. Grand Opening of Papé Fremont Dealership. Papé Group is nearing completion of a best-in-class dealership on Osgood Road, combining a service center and showroom, and consolidating multiple regional locations into Fremont. The project is the biggest investment in the company’s history and will play a critical role in supporting regional infrastructure investment, including many Fremont projects.

9. Frontier Elm Completion & Globe Site Groundbreaking. In June, we celebrated the groundbreaking of Frontier Elm Business Center, a 210,000-square-foot flex industrial facility in Warm Springs. The project is slated for completion in Q3 of 2023 and will provide much needed expansion space for the several major employers in the area. In addition, Scannell is expected to break ground on its three-building, 400,000-square-foot project at the Globe site. The project is providing numerous community benefits, including local construction apprenticeships, extensive onsite solar, and millions' worth of street, landscape, and signal improvements.

10. Fremont Cleantech Event. Thanks to Tesla and companies like EnerVenue, Nextracker, and Enphase, Fremont is home to more cleantech jobs than anywhere in the country. In 2023, we are going to celebrate the City’s cleantech sector, including hosting an event with some of our key businesses and partners. Be sure to keep an eye out for details!
