Public Safety Power Shutoff Updates

Southern California Edison PSPS Outage Map

SCE Public Safety Power Shutoff Real-Time Map

Fontana, Calif.- The City of Fontana would like to share new information that Southern California Edison (SCE) has released for those affected by the Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) events. The information includes a real-time power outage map, claims policy, and PSPS decision-making video.

Customers can now view a map of current and potential PSPS areas, in addition to areas of high fire risk. The number of affected SCE customers by county can also be seen. View the map here

Some customers are now eligible for reimbursement for claims for spoiled food or medicine stemming from PSPS. Under a temporary PSPS claims policy, eligible customers must have:

  1. Opted in to receive notifications
  2. Received less than 12-hours' notice for the shutoff
  3. Experienced a service interruption for greater than eight hours.

More information, including how to submit a claim, is available at

Learn about the PSPS decision-making process through SCE's new video, which explains what happens before, during and after a PSPS event. Watch the video here.
