Community Services Coordinator Devoted to Helping Develop Future Leaders in Fontana

November Employee Spotlight

Felix Bobo - November Employee Spotlight

Fontana, Calif.- Volunteer, mentor and church group leader can be used to describe this City of Fontana Community Services Coordinator. For the past seven years, City of Fontana employee Felix Bobo has devoted himself to Fontana by serving as a coordinator for the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council, youth group leader, and overseeing 14 after school program sites, all while maintaining a warm and welcoming personality.

Felix works in the Community Services Department Expanded Learning Program Division. He oversees special events that take place in the after-school program, staff coaching and program design and implementation. Felix’s workday consists of meeting with colleagues, supervisors and staff to assess what support is needed and he meets with principals to relay any information to district representatives. “I love being out in the field supporting my team and building relationships with the stakeholders,” shares Felix.

Felix will be celebrating his eighth anniversary with the City of Fontana this December. “I love the City of Fontana, the values, the community and the people I work with,” shares Felix. “It has been exciting to be part of this growing culture and to see what can be accomplished when people are working towards a common goal.”

Felix has a positive and welcoming reputation among all his coworkers and team. His coworkers share, “Felix is always a pleasure to work with. I have called him for assistance over the years and he is a “go to” person.”

Felix and his team are passionate about developing future leaders. They know the work is enriching and rewarding. “My proudest accomplishment is when former or current staff and students let me know how I made a positive impact on their life,” states Felix.

Felix is thankful for his team, coworkers and supervisors' support because without them he could not accomplish all that he does for the children in the community.

Coworkers would be surprised to know that Felix is currently pursuing an education degree to become a school counselor while working full time. He plans to continue to make a difference in the lives of his students.

In his free time you may find him watching Wizard of Oz or Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (two of his favorite movies of all time), hitting the gym or spending time with his family. The best advice Felix has ever received is “Change is inevitable, Growth is an option.”

Please join us in congratulating Felix Bobo for showing so much passion to help shape the minds of the next generations of leaders.
