Halloween Family Festivities Take Over Fontana

There's nothing to be sad about...Halloween family festivities are taking over Fontana


Fontana, Calif.-  From a costume contest for dogs to “trunk or treating” for sweets from car to car, October is filled with safe and family-fun experiences in Fontana. Here’s where to go in Fontana to get your thrills and chills this Halloween time:

  1. Halloween Howl | October 26 | Jessie Turner Center | 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
    The Halloween fun kicks-off on Saturday, October 26 at the Fontana Dog Park located near the Jessie Turner Center (15556 Summit Ave) with a Halloween Howl event for dogs from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. This year’s event will feature a dog costume contest and canine trick or treating. Don’t miss out on the fun for this free event, but make sure that you keep your pet on a leash. For questions, contact the Jessie Turner Center at (909) 854-5100.

  2. Day of the Dead | October 29 | Steelworkers' Auditorium | 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
    Day of the Dead festivities also come to life at the Steelworkers' Auditorium (8437 Sierra Ave), Tuesday, October 29 from 4:00 p.m to 7:00 p.m. The City's Mobile Recreation fun patrol will be face painting and providing hands-on art activities while vendors and live performances by the Danza Azteca Nuevo and more.   3. Halloween Spooktacular | October 31 | Jessie Turner Center | 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
    Join us for our Halloween Spooktacular “Trunk or Treat” at the Jessie Turner Center (15556 Summit Ave) on Thursday, October 31 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. There will be plenty of ghostly entertainment to excite you including a haunted house, costume contest and game booths. Bring your trick-or-treating bag to this free event where you will have the opportunity to travel from car to car to collect your favorite sweets.   4. Halloween Maze | October 31 | Fontana Park Aquatic Center | 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
    For those brave enough to enter, join us at to the Fontana Park Aquatic Center for their Annual Haunted Halloween Maze, October 31 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. For more information, please call the Aquatic Center at (909) 854-5111.

  5. Monster Mayhem | October 31 | Don Day Neighborhood Center | 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
    The Halloween festivities don’t stop there. Come join us for our free Monster Mayhem at Southridge Park, hosted by the Don Day Neighborhood Center (14501 Live Oak Ave) on Thursday, October 31 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. There will be a costume contest, games, crafts, food and even trick or treat booths.   6. Cypress “Upside Down" | October 31 | Cypress Neighborhood Center | 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. 
    Cypress Neighborhood Center would like to invite you to join us for our Cypress “Upside Down” event on Thursday, October 31 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Seville Park (16669 Seville Ave). Gather your family and friends and come enjoy live entertainment, explore local vendors, learn about city programs and get a chance to win one of our many giveaways! From games to arts and crafts, a costume contest and even Trunk-or-Treating, this event has something in store for the whole family!   7. Dia De Los Muertos | November 1 | Jack Bulik Center | 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. 
    Come celebrate a Mexican tradition known as “Dia De Los Muertos” or Day of the Dead at Jack Bulik Center (16581 Filbert Street) on Friday, November 1 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Where you can see a glimpse of the Mexican holiday where loved ones who have passed are celebrated.
