Customer Service Kiosks Available at Fontana City Hall


Customer Service Kiosks

Tablet kiosks are near the entrances of the DSO for customers to sign in.

Fontana, Calif.- New to Fontana City Hall and Development Services Office lobbies (DSO) are kiosks to enhance efficiency and improve the customer service experience for visitors. 

When a visitor comes to either lobby, he or she will now need to sign in electronically at a kiosk and select from services provided by that department regarding their visit. The visitor's name will then appear on a monitor where they will be able to see and hear when their name is called, along with which counter or cashier to approach when called. Previously, visitors waited in line at various counters and signed in on a clipboard. The new system aims to reduce wait time and confusion by directing the customer to the correct counter and employee. 

The system also includes a language preference setting that will notify employees whether a English or Spanish-speaking staff is needed. There are two kiosks in the DSO lobby and one kiosk in the City Hall lobby, but customers can still check in directly with staff if preferred. 

The Fontana Police Department lobby will be getting this system later in the year.

The customer service kiosks were developed by Fontana employees who created the system to fit the needs of Fontana with the intention of creating a faster and efficient customer experience.
