Central City Park Groundbreaking Ceremony

Fontana, Calif.- Central City Park, the state-of-the-art sports facility project is moving one step closer to construction. The City of Fontana invites all to attend the official groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at 8380 Cypress Avenue. 

The new 14.5-acre sports facility, located behind the Cypress Community Center, will feature:

  • Two synthetic turf football/soccer fields
  • One synthetic turf soccer-only field
  • Sports lighting for nighttime play
  • New horseshoe pits
  • ADA accessible playground
  • Concessions, storage and restroom buildings
  • 0.75-acre community garden
  • Connection to the Pacific Electric Trail

The new sports facility in central Fontana will be used for football and soccer games with league tournament capabilities. The Cypress Community Center will remain on site and open during construction. The horseshoe area will be relocated with new equipment. The community garden will also be relocated and allow the community to grow their own products. 

Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2019, with the estimated completion date in early 2020.
