The Los Angeles Lakers, LA Kings and LA Giltinis, will soon have a new neighbor to welcome to the City of El Segundo - where pro sports teams with championship history train for extraordinary performances.

The LA Chargers are the latest professional sports team to join El Segundo's roster, recently breaking ground on their new, cutting-edge practice facility and headquarters campus near the intersection of S. Hughes Way. & Pacific Coast Highway (formerly part of Raytheon's campus).

The move underscores how industry dynamics in the City are diversifying from aerospace and defense to media, bio tech, sports and entertainment sectors leading economic growth in El Segundo.

VISIONARY CAMPUS IN A VIBRANT HUB

The City of El Segundo congratulates Hackman Capital Partners and the teams at KPRS Construction and Gensler who were honored as Bronze Award winners at the Los Angeles Business Journal's Commercial Real Estate Awards (Pg. 20). Hackman Capital Partners won the "Redevelopment" category for the 888 N. Douglas project, a prime representation of the revolutionary reimagination and transformation of historic aerospace manufacturing sites taking place right here in El Segundo. This one-of-a-kind creative campus has been reinvented to appeal to the rising influx of technology, entertainment, media, biomed, fashion and beauty industries clustering in the city. 888 N. Douglas will house the new headquarters for Beyond Meat and the West Coast headquarters for global cosmetic brand, L'Oreal.

Development is booming in El Segundo, with many prominent developers moving ahead on exciting projects in the area. Notable proposed projects range from sprawling mixed-use developments to major office redevelopments, all with a focus on enhancing economic vitality, housing and further grow and diversify the tenant base in the city.
