We recently celebrated the latest round of Title 25 homes in Grizzly Flats with a ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by HomeAid Sacramento. The event was well attended by dignitaries, home builders and supportive locals with speeches from Congressman Kevin Kiley and Dana Jorgensen with Assemblymember Heather Hadwick. The efforts of HomeAid Sacramento, Elliott Homes, USA Properties Fund Inc. and NEXT Crafted Inc. have supported the building of Title 25 homes for Caldor Fire survivors. Residents in Grizzly Flats were destitute after the Caldor Fire and would have little hope rebuilding a home without the generous charity of community non-profits, industry leaders and local leaders pushing to create the current Title 25 program. We look forward to more Title 25 homes being built for Caldor Fire survivors in Grizzly Flats.

The El Dorado County Air Quality Management District (AQMD) is pleased to share a Clean Lawn-equipment Incentive Program (CLIP) that helps to incentivize the replacement of gasoline powered lawn equipment with cordless electric lawn equipment. The program is a state funded incentive courtesy of Carl Moyer Program funds. The incentive replacement CLIP program is for El Dorado County residents only, who use gasoline powered equipment and are interested in cordless electric equipment. Applicants are eligible for one incentive per equipment type per residence, which means a household can apply for multiple equipment types but only one of each type. Applicants must contribute 15% of the total cost of the replacement equipment.

Incentive amounts include:
- Leaf blower – up to $100
- Walk‑behind lawnmower – up to $200
- Chainsaw, trimmer, edger, brush cutter, “weed‑eater,” miscellaneous – up to $200
- Ride‑on lawnmower – up to $2,000

Applications must be approved by AQMD before old equipment is disposed, and old equipment must be disposed within 30 days of purchasing new, cordless, zero-emission lawn equipment.

The RCD can help public or private landowners get assistance with vegetation management and tree removal at no cost to the landowner. This could be helpful for residents recovering after a wildfire. RCD is a grassroots government organization that advises and assists individual landowners and public agencies in planning and implementation of conservation practices for the protection, restoration, or development of land, water, and related natural resources. The El Dorado County Resource Conservation District and Georgetown Divide Resource Conservation District are local, independent, non-enforcement, non-regulatory, self-governed districts organized under Division 9 of the Public Resource Code. Fire Safe Councils and residents are encouraged to reach out to RCD for assistance in creating defensible space and hazard tree removal.

El Dorado County accepts certain household hazardous waste from residents. The Environmental Management Department provides information regarding what constitutes household hazardous waste, and the proper ways of disposing the waste. On September 19th, El Dorado County will host another household hazardous waste collection event by appointment only.
