RCD Tree Removal Services
-
The RCD can help public or private landowners get assistance with vegetation management and tree removal at no cost to the landowner. RCD is a grassroots government organization that advises and assists individual landowners and public agencies in planning and implementation of conservation practices for the protection, restoration, or development of land, water, and related natural resources. The El Dorado County Resource Conservation District and Georgetown Divide Resource Conservation District are local, independent, non-enforcement, non-regulatory, self-governed districts organized under Division 9 of the Public Resource Code. Residents and Fire Safe Councils are encouraged to reach out to RCD for assistance in creating defensible space and hazard tree removal.
Call RCD at (530) 295-0120 or email connectwithrcd@gmail.com or fill out their contact form.

West Slope VHR Ordinance Review
-
El Dorado County is reviewing elements of the West Slope Vacation Home Rental (VHR) ordinance. As part of the Board’s direction during the formation of the West Slope Ad Hoc Committee, this review will consider adjustments to parcel buffers (including smaller or no buffers for larger parcels), the inclusion of attached and detached guest houses, potential removal of the Hosted Home Rentals buffer on the West Slope, and a re-examination of occupancy levels. We want to understand what outcomes the public supports and what should be avoided to balance neighborhood character, housing, tourism, safety, and property rights.
