SSCP Chamber of Commerce Logo

The Shingle Springs Cameron Park Chamber of Commerce is a great resource for local businesses to network, market and share their experiences as business managers in El Dorado County. Originally formed in 1967 as the Shingle Springs Business and Professional Association, Inc, the Shingle Springs Cameron Park (SSCP) Chamber of Commerce works to promote the area, encouraging business and industrial investment to provide the foundation for a solid community. Their mission is to advocate, promote and preserve the quality of life in our Chamber Community, by means of a strong, healthy and diverse business community. Supervisor Turnboo recently attended the SSCP Chamber of Commerce annual awards luncheon where individuals and businesses were nominated for various awards. Supervisor Turnboo joined Todd White of State Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil's Office and Victor Wolfe of State Assemblyperson Joe Patterson's Office to provide additional Certificates of Recognition to accompany the SSCP Chamber of Commerce awards. The event was hosted at the Red Hawk Koto Buffet and was well attended by residents and SSCP Chamber members. Businesses and interested individuals should consider learning more about the SSCP Chamber of Commerce and the work they do to build up the business community.

Owner-Occupied Rehab Program

-

El Dorado County Seal

El Dorado County is currently developing Homebuyer/Rehabilitation Loans and Affordable Housing Developments to assist residents. The Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation Program offers eligible homeowner households deferred loans for repairs and construction within the unincorporated areas of El Dorado County. These deferred loans may help qualifying residents make much needed repairs and construction to their homes. Due to increasing costs related to construction and home repairs, these loans may help residents meet their financial obligations related to home repair and construction. Contact staff at (530) 621-5824 or send an email inquiry to Loans@edcgov.us. The program guidelines are currently being developed, so sign-up to receive updates regarding program timelines and eligibility.

West Slope VHR Ordinance Review

-

El Dorado County Seal

El Dorado County is reviewing elements of the West Slope Vacation Home Rental (VHR) ordinance. As part of the Board’s direction during the formation of the West Slope Ad Hoc Committee, this review will consider adjustments to parcel buffers (including smaller or no buffers for larger parcels), the inclusion of attached and detached guest houses, potential removal of the Hosted Home Rentals buffer on the West Slope, and a re-examination of occupancy levels. We want to understand what outcomes the public supports and what should be avoided to balance neighborhood character, housing, tourism, safety, and property rights.
