New Hope Fellowship

New Hope Fellowship in Shingle Springs recently opened a new space known as "The Barn at New Hope". The purpose of this building is to provide additional facilities for fellowship and community needs. The New Hope Fellowship team has been working for nearly a year to bring the 40-year-old barn new life as a gathering space and resource for community youth. Part of their mission is to bring compassion locally and worldwide through empowering people. Community meeting spaces are important for residents to gather and enjoy the company of others. Supervisor Turnboo attended the ribbon cutting event for New Hope Fellowship and celebrated providing more community resources.

Snowline Health

For more than 45 years, Snowline has been a trusted source of comfort and dignity for people facing serious illness or the end of life. The mission of Snowline Health is to bring peace and dignity through life's transitions by providing comfort, care, and support to people in need. At Snowline Health, they have a bold vision: to expand and elevate their care for the community's most vulnerable. They are laying the groundwork for a new capital campaign that will help reach more individuals, improve efficiency through new technology, and better support dedicated staff. This vision is a critical step to ensure compassionate services continue to meet the growing needs of those who depend on Snowline Health. From specialized services for veterans to free grief support for the bereaved, Snowline care extends far beyond medical needs- reaching hearts, easing burdens, and restoring peace. Fueled by the generosity of the community and supported through thrift stores and recycling centers, Snowline provides services that insurance and Medicare often do not cover, ensuring no one is turned away. When the journey is hard, Snowline Health is there… to comfort, to guide, and to bring dignity every step of the way.

Bucks Bar Road Bridge Update

-

El Dorado County Seal

Bucks Bar Road Bridge is currently scheduled for replacement beginning after Thanksgiving in 2027. The planning and development of the Bucks Bar Road Bridge Project has taken years due to environmental concerns, native sacred sites and limits with the surrounding topography. DOT staff have been working to determine the most effective way of replacing the bridge. The current one-lane-bridge has tremendous potential for vehicular accidents and cannot be simply upgraded to improve driving safety. The replacement bridge will have two lanes and will provide greater viewing distance to drivers crossing the bridge. Residents wanting to learn more about the Bucks Bar Bridge Project are encouraged to visit the website or contact DOT at (530) 621-5998.
