Thank You Congressman Kevin Kiley
.
 |
Special thanks to the Honorable Congressman Kevin Kiley for speaking to President Donald J. Trump about the 2021 Caldor Fire and the broken promises to survivors. The El Dorado County District 2 Office of Supervisor George Turnboo has been reaching out to all levels of government for years to secure FEMA Individual Assistance for Caldor Fire survivors. The issuing of FEMA Individual Assistance for Caldor Fire survivors has been denied more than once, but can still be issued by a Presidential decree. Our office has been working diligently with our congressional representatives regarding the Caldor Fire: first with Congressman Tom McClintock and then Congressman Kevin Kiley. We credit both congressman for helping to restore the Grizzly Flats Post Office as well as petitioning FEMA under Joe Biden to assist Caldor Fire survivors. Congressman Kevin Kiley has used every opportunity to speak with authorities in Washington D.C. to provide relief to residents impacted by wildfire, including using his limited time on camera speaking to Trump, to mention how the Caldor Fire devastated Grizzly Flats. Our office remains hopeful that with Congressman Kevin Kiley's support, we will be provided the FEMA Individual Assistance that was promised back in 2021.
