Remembering Supervisor John Hidahl

.

Supervisor John Hidahl was a dear friend and colleague to the El Dorado County District 2 office. We remember John's kindhearted humor and outgoing nature that made him one-of-a-kind. He enjoyed working in public service and interacting with people to hear their stories or to work on solving their problems. John was an engineer and rocket scientist, which helped his analytical approach to crafting solutions and his vision for improving the quality of life for residents. He shared a faith driven joy with others and was willing to calmly challenge people to be their best in the face of adversity. He was passionate about honoring Veterans for their service in addition to standing up for the American flag and all it represents. John cherished his family and friends who were an important part of his life. John was the soul of the party at most events, providing his charm and wit to help ease tensions without losing focus of common-sense goals. The El Dorado County District 2 office of Supervisor George Turnboo will miss our dear friend and colleague District 1 Supervisor John Hidahl.

West County:

Attended EDH Chamber business builder buffet in EDH.
Presented certificate at EDH Chamber ribbon cutting event.
Participated in EDH APAC meeting about Carson Crossing.

South County:

Welcomed new employees during county orientation.
Meeting with South County public school representatives.
Attended SSCP Chamber grand opening of new location.

Household Hazardous Waste Event

El Dorado County accepts certain household hazardous waste from local residents. The Environmental Management Department provides information regarding what constitutes household hazardous waste, and the proper ways of disposing the waste. On November 16th, El Dorado County will host another household hazardous waste collection event by appointment only. To participate in the upcoming waste collection event, please contact the Environmental Management Department directly by phone at (530) 621-5300 or by email at hhw@edcgov.us to schedule an appointment.

When: November 16th, 2024, from 9am to 12pm

EDH Fire Station 86

El Dorado Hills, CA 95762
