EDH Chamber Ribbon Cutting Event

Supervisor Turnboo attended a ribbon cutting event for Dream Catchers EDH of El Dorado Hills hosted by the El Dorado Hills Chamber of Commerce. The mission of Dream Catchers EDH is to empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDDS) to live their best lives. They work to provide people with opportunities for character growth, better health, confident social connections and individual independence. Programs offered by Dream Catchers EDH include online theatre, in-person theatre, self-determination program and more. Their aim is to be a vehicle for clients to explore their world in the safety and company of close friends. Dream Catchers EDH achieves their aims by letting clients choose where to go and what to do with unscheduled time activities that align with the principles of the organization. Group activities are decided democratically, which includes each individual voting and voicing their opinions, with the group deciding activities together. Dream Catchers EDH values include: safety, self-advocacy, unity, self-acceptance, integrity, efficiency and equity. Household Hazardous Waste Event

El Dorado County accepts certain household hazardous waste from local residents. The Environmental Management Department provides information regarding what constitutes household hazardous waste, and the proper ways of disposing the waste. On October 12th, El Dorado County will host another household hazardous waste collection event by appointment only. To participate in the upcoming waste collection event, please contact the Environmental Management Department directly by phone at (530) 621-5300 or by email at hhw@edcgov.us to schedule an appointment.
