Farm Day 2024
.
The El Dorado County Board of Supervisors attended the Farm Day event at the El Dorado County Fair and Event Center. El Dorado County Ag in the Classroom hosted hundreds of young students to venture around and learn about agriculture in El Dorado County. The students learned about agriculture from local farmers, ranchers,
foresters, scientists and industry experts. The various learning stations had first-hand learning experiences about soil, cultivation, food cycles, animals, nutrition, natural resources, land stewardship and how to make better informed decisions as consumers and community members. The Supervisors enjoyed their time touring around the different booths and presentations for the children, and learning a few things themselves. Supervisor Turnboo even devoted time to interacting with the animals being shown. Everyone was very friendly and the Board of Supervisors was grateful for the invitation to attend the annual Farm Day event.

El Dorado County is pleased to announce a new website design and domain name for the El Dorado County Government and Board of Supervisors. The new website design has a focus on being more service oriented, with the intention to help residents find services easier, faster and with most relevant information. The domain name has changed from EDCGOV.US to ELDORADOCOUNTY.CA.GOV, which better matches California State Government domain names, and is easier to remember. El Dorado County is encouraged by the new website and domain name as it provides an opportunity to improve overall operations regarding public facing information. Please take time to review and provide feedback on the new El Dorado County website design and domain name.

Team Rubicon in Grizzly Flats
-
Team Rubiconis a veteran-led, humanitarian organization that helps communities before, during and after natural disasters. Currently, Team Rubicon has been assisting residents in Grizzly Flats to recover their properties after the Caldor Fire. The work being conducted is helping Grizzly Flats residents remove hazardous trees and masticate vegetation. Team Rubicon has been focusing on creating defensible space for residents who have homes and clearing areas for residents who intend to rebuild their homes.
Team Rubicon volunteers come from all over the United States and from different industries. Team Rubicon volunteers are composed of outdoorsy people who enjoy learning more about forest management and working with their hands. They all have the goal of bringing the community of Grizzly Flats back home one step at a time. Team Rubicon efforts are planned to assist residents until May 21, 2024.
"These people have been facing the impact of the Caldor Fire since 2021. That's a long time. There [are] still many people out of their homes," - Corde Wagner, Team Rubicon deputy operation sections chief. (Source: CBS Local News)
