Placerville Speedway
.
Placerville Speedway is a ¼ mile clay oval race track and is a legendary bucket-list destination for dirt track car racing fans from all over the world. Placerville Speedway was built into a hillside at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds in scenic Placerville, California. Supervisor George Turnboo is one of the Placerville Speedway Legends that has helped foster the local racing community through the decades. George and the Turnboo family began racing when the race track was still called Hangtown Speedway, and the cars that were raced would be considered vintage cars now. The Turnboo family pulled George’s old car out of the bushes for Legends Night. Placerville Speedway offers wholesome family entertainment with spectating amenities and services. Local racing heroes do battle nearly every Saturday night starting in early Spring and continuing through to late Autumn. Several big events throughout the year draw large crowds, including the fireworks display on Independence Day, traveling dirt track racing series, and special events that use the dirt track as an arena. Enjoy one of the most legendary experiences in your own back yard at Placerville Speedway.
