Disaster Relief Resources

County Seal

Disaster relief is available through many non-profits and other local organizations. El Dorado County relies on the partnerships and good work by non-profits and other local organizations to help residents in the midst of a natural disaster.

The Food Bank of El Dorado County has domestic supplies and food available. In addition, the Food Bank is actively working to provide meals to evacuees. They have many other resources, so just ask. The Food Bank of El Dorado County has provided considerable disaster relief to residents.

The El Dorado Community Foundation has been a key organization in providing disaster relief. The Foundation works with many other non-profit organizations to provide funding to provide disaster relief. They have created a Mosquito Fire Relief Fund to assist residents currently evacuated. The El Dorado Community Foundation focuses on providing funding.

El Dorado County maintains a list of assistance resources for residents. Due to the Mosquito Fire, El Dorado County staff will try to make themselves more available to residents, and responsive to changing circumstances. FEMA Individual Assistance

Federal Emergency Management Agency

The El Dorado County District 2 office of Supervisor George Turnboo has been working since the Caldor Fire began to ensure the victims receive Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Individual Assistance (IA). Despite the best efforts by County, State and Federal representatives, FEMA Individual Assistance was denied three separate times to victims of the Caldor Fire. Senators Alex Padilla and Diane Feinstein wrote a letter questioning the determination made by FEMA. We greatly appreciate the attention the Senators have given this issue. We still need help with FEMA Individual Assistance for the victims of the Caldor Fire.
