Emergency Resource Center Event

Food Bank of El Dorado County

Food Bank of El Dorado County will be hosting a groundbreaking ceremony for a new Emergency Resource Center on August 25th, 2022, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at their 4550 Business Drive location. The event is open to everyone interested. The Food Bank will be providing food, beverages, and live entertainment. The Emergency Resource Center is being built with the specific goal of providing resources for responding to regional emergencies.

In recent years, the Food Bank of El Dorado County has been asked to ramp up their operations to help facilitate emergency response and provide supplies. Mike Sproull and his team at the Food Bank of El Dorado County have met or exceeded all expectations and continue with their commitment to our region by building an Emergency Resource Center. For more information about the Food Bank or the Emergency Resource Center, please contact the Food Bank of El Dorado County directly by calling (530) 621-9950 or by email at thefooddude@foodbankedc.org.

Public Health Survey

County Seal

El Dorado County is collecting input from the community about public health issues they want the Health Department to focus on. The process began by entering various communities and having conversations with people in everyday environments. The in-person process included teams of public health staff asking people to vote (with stickers) for their top three health issues from a list presented. The staff and general public have been very engaging and has extended their input collection to an online survey in English or in Spanish. Residents (especially in District 2) are encouraged to participate in the Health Department survey to provide more adequate representation of the people’s will.
