Remembering Brian "Ish" Ishmael

Brian Ishmael Memorial Ceremony

The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office held a ceremony at the Placerville headquarters to unveil new highway signs in honor of Deputy Brian “Ish” Ishmael. Brian Ishmael was a Deputy Sheriff shot in the line of duty in 2019. Sheriff D’Agostini and state Senator Brian Dahle spoke before the crowd of family, friends, and law enforcement co-workers. The event was heartwarming and brought some people to tears as they remembered Brian. The signs are to be placed at US-50 and Missouri Flat Road, which is an area that Brian patrolled regularly as an El Dorado County Deputy Sheriff and Placerville Police Officer. As you drive by the signs, please remember Deputy Brian “Ish” Ishmael, and keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Mountain Counties Water Resources Association

Mountain Counties Water Resources Association

Mountain Counties Water Resources Association (MCWRA) has the expressed goal of strengthening and assisting members with jurisdiction responsibilities, to study and promote newest methods of reclamation, wastewater treatment and hydroelectric generation, and to be active with information sharing or legal support. By working together, rural counties are better able to support each other as they share similar concerns and difficulties concerning water rights. MCWRA works towards long term water dependability and accessibility.

George recently toured with MCWRA through the Caldor Fire burn scar, to discuss forest management and issues related to water collection and storage. There were many great ideas presented during the tour, and opportunity for Supervisor Turnboo to speak about better forest management and restoration.
