El Dorado County Water Agency
|
The El Dorado Water Agency (EDWA) was created in 1959 to ensure that residents of El Dorado County have adequate water. The EDWA maintains water systems to store, conserve, reclaim, appropriate, and import water. The agency also works with other federal, state and local agencies to prevent interference or contamination of water sources, as well as performing studies or investigations, and water sales transactions. EDWA provides a project map, newsroom and resources for residents to monitor agency activities. Residents are encouraged to contact EDWA or sign-up for the newsletter.
Supervisor Turnboo is an active member of EDWA, and recently joined fellow directors for an interview with a local news agency. During the interview, the discussion surrounded the drought in California, and how EDWA is responding with our water resources. Additionally, there was a lengthy discussion about projects that EDWA has coming down the pipeline. An article about the interview will be published in the Mountain Democrat. Water is one of our core competencies in El Dorado County, which requires us to properly manage and protect such a vital resource for the future.

Caldor Fire Survivors Appeal To Biden
|
FEMA denied our residents Individual Assistance that could greatly help with temporary housing, emergency home repairs, uninsured/underinsured shortfalls for personal property losses, medical and dental costs, mental health services, food, clothing and other needs that would help our residents recover from their losses. At this point, only President Biden can overturn FEMA's denial. Supervisor Turnboo and survivors of the Caldor Fire worked with County staff to produce a video as a personal plea from residents who have lost everything and need help that FEMA can, but is not, providing. We encourage residents to reach out and ask the President to please provide Caldor Fire Survivors with FEMA Individual Assistance.
