Pioneer Community Energy Hosts PG&E Presentation

Pioneer Community Energy

Pioneer Community Energy will host a Zoom webinar on March 15th, from 6PM to 7:30PM. A PG&E Time-of-Use (TOU) expert will be providing an overview of Time-of-Use (TOU), how it functions, the choices available and answer any related questions. All electricity ratepayers in PG&E’s service area will automatically be moved to a Time-of-Use (TOU) rate by PG&E. Customers do have a choice regarding which rate is best for them, but the deadline for making a choice about Time-of-Use (TOU) rate plans is March 18th, 2022. The Zoom webinar is open to everyone and customers are encouraged to attend.

EID is Drawing The Lines

El Dorado Irrigation District

El Dorado Irrigation District (EID) is redrawing boundary lines for the irrigation district. The EID Board Division Boundary Map plays a key role in the election of EID representatives. An EID news release explains the process how the public can participate. As always, public participation is recommended. Reading agendas, minutes and attending meetings is the best way to maintain up-to-date knowledge of the redistricting process. Recorded meetings are available on YouTube, and EID provides eNews Sign Up for topic specific emails. There is also a "Find My EID Board Representative" feature to help you identify if you are an EID customer, and if so, who is your current representative. The current EID Board will have an election in 2022. The EID Board can be contacted directly at (530) 642-4055 or by email at boardofdirectors@eid.org.

Chambers of Commerce

Chambers of Commerce

A Chamber of Commerce is a form of business network with the primary goal of promoting business interests. The two primary functions of a Chamber of Commerce are being a community voice for business and providing meaningful products or services to members. The Chamber of Commerce mission is to create an overall business friendly environment in the region they represent. Many businesses, from "mom and pop" shops, to big building developers, rely on the Chamber of Commerce for assistance.

El Dorado County has a number of Chambers of Commerce that represent businesses in our region. These Chambers help with business search, job postings, events and keeping membership informed about latest developments. The El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce represents the entire county region, with offices in Placerville. The El Dorado Hills Chamber of Commerce represents the western region of El Dorado Hills. The Shingle Springs/Cameron Park Chamber of Commerce represents regions from Shingle Springs to Cameron Park. The Divide Chamber of Commerce represents the growing foothill communities in the northern region. The Tahoe Chamber of Commerce and the South Tahoe Chamber of Commerce represent the mountain communities around Lake Tahoe.

Carson Creek Village is a proposed plan for a new community of high density housing, some medium density housing and commercial services on 97.93 acres in the middle of the El Dorado Hills Business Park. The El Dorado Hills Area Planning Advisory Committee (APAC) outlines the project proposal for the public to review and will accept input. Review recent APAC meetings to get the latest information.

Heritage Park lighting continues to be an issue at the dawn to dusk park. Now that the 50-foot-tall lights have been installed and turned on, the lit up stadium lights continue to shine into homes. We continue to hear from local residents displeased with light shining into their homes. It is our hope that the appropriate stakeholders come to an amicable agreement.

A beaver dam was recently reported to the El Dorado County District 2 office so we decided to share more about beaver stewardship in El Dorado Hills. The American River Conservancy contacted the Occidental Arts and Ecology Center WATER Institute (WATER) in 2018 for help with a local beaver. Instead of removing the beaver, the WATER Institute installed a drainage device that allowed the beaver to remain, which increased wildlife in that area. In El Dorado County, we cherish the rural nature of our region.
