Grizzly Flats West Slope Foundation

The Grizzly Flats West Slope Foundation (GFWS Foundation) was created by local residents who have been impacted by the Caldor Fire. The primary mission of the GFWS Foundation is to help local residents recover from the Caldor Fire. The GFWS Foundation seeks to provide monetary compensation and logistics coordination to help with the recovery and rebuilding process. Residents impacted by the Caldor Fire are encouraged to submit an application for relief. GFWS Foundation also accepts donations. The Grizzly Flats West Slope Foundation (GFWS Foundation) is an entity of the Fairplay-Aukum Community Hall Association (FACHA).

El Dorado Community Foundation has established several funds to support families. El Dorado Community Foundation accepts monetary donations to help victims of the Caldor Fire. All donations to the Caldor Fire Fund will be unrestricted. They offer a Caldor Fire Recovery Application for those impacted to receive monetary help. A tutorial video is available to help residents understand the application process.

Food Bank of El Dorado County

For over 20 years the Food Bank of El Dorado County has helped our neighbors who struggle to make ends meet. The Food Bank has relationships with many local non-profit organizations, businesses and government agencies to ensure people are fed. In addition to the Emergency Food Assistance Network, they have also started a Commodity Supplemental Food Program for seniors over 60, free farmer’s market events, and the No Vet Goes Hungry Program. The Food Bank welcomes visitors and volunteers who want to help feed people, and there other ways to give help as well. If you or anyone you know, is in need of food, contact the Food Bank of El Dorado County for assistance.

Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event

Household Hazardous Waste

El Dorado County accepts certain household hazardous waste from local residents. The Environmental Management Department provides information regarding what constitutes household hazardous waste, and the proper ways of disposing the waste. On November 20th, El Dorado County will host another household hazardous waste collection event by appointment only. To participate in the upcoming waste collection event, please contact the Environmental Management Department directly by phone at (530) 621-5300 or by email at hhw@edcgov.us to schedule an appointment.
