“What a relief to see the rain! We are all hoping and praying that this week’s precipitation will put a final death blow to the fires that have surrounded us for too long this year.
The Celio Ranch in Christmas Valley has been in El Dorado County for nearly 150 years, driving freight wagons from Placerville to the silver mines of Nevada since the 1800’s. It is with in line with this frontier spirit that they are asking our communities to come together - to connect both sides of our mountains and rekindle a joint community spirit to help those who lost everything during the Caldor and Tamarack fires.
Please join us at the Celio Ranch for an old-fashion Pumpkin Patch FUNdraiser that will be held October 16th and 17th from 10 am to 4 pm. Besides lots of pumpkins, there will be a corn maze, petting zoo, arts & crafts, food trucks, music, and much more. Check out the flyer below for more information - see you there!”
Caldor Fire Recovery: there are two phases to the hazardous debris cleanup. First is household hazardous waste and has been completed by the State at properties they could access. Phase Two is the remaining hazardous waste cleanup; some assessment and asbestos cleanup is being done now by the State.
Crews will contact owners before they remove and clean up, approximately by mid-to late October. See the images of what a full cleanup looks like.
If you want the State to clean up your property at no cost, fill out a Right of Entry form here: http://ow.ly/JM8c50GnjQP The deadline to opt in to this program is Nov. 15th, but the sooner you sign up, the sooner crews will be scheduled in our County.
