Air Quality Matters

PM Example

Recent wildfires have left considerable particulate matter (PM) in the air. The very fine particulates in smoke can cause health problems, especially in people with existing respiratory conditions. El Dorado County Air Quality Management District (AQMD) works hard to mitigate and eliminate air pollution in our region. Part of what AQMD does is educating the public on the importance of air quality, and what to avoid. AQMD offers Wildfire Information to help residents deal with the poor air quality. Additionally, on the AQMD website homepage, they provide a live monitoring of the Air Quality Index (AQI) in specific areas of El Dorado County. For more fire related information, AQMD outlines tips for fire safety, home fire safety and wildfire information. Any interested in other aspects of air quality can review Frequently Asked Questions or browse Air Quality Links.
