Caldor Fire

Remain Fire Aware

It has been 42 days since the Caldor Fire began. It has burned 221,505 total acres which includes an increase of 344 acres within the last 24 hours. It remains at 76 percent containment. Therefore, the fire is not yet out and with the weather forecasting possible winds coming in on Monday, residents are reminded to remain aware and stay informed.

The area of Meyers on the west side of Highway 88 and Christmas Valley remains under an evacuation warning.

You may see more smoke in some areas as backfires have been set in the Desolation and Strawberry Creek areas.
