District V Supervisor, Sue Novasel Updates and Input Newsletter

Hello Everyone!

I've been working to get our COVID-19 Response Team to set up a senior vaccine clinic here in the South Lake Tahoe area. Of course nothing can be done until the vaccines become available.

Stay tuned and fingers crossed!

COVID-19 Vaccination Information

ARE YOU 75 OR OLDER AND NEED A FIRST DOSE VACCINE?

We are prioritizing this age group since it is most likely to have serious, even deadly, impacts of COVID-19. If you or someone you know is 75 or older, please email eochealth@edso.org for an appointment. Age verification is required.

NEW WAY TO SCHEDULE A VACCINE APPOINTMENT

Starting 2/18/21, residents can be notified by email or text when they become eligible for a vaccine AND when an appointment becomes available! Signing up for the service is simple and takes less than 5 minutes. You'll get an email or text confirming your eligibility and another email or text when an appointment is available. It does not work with landline phones. Visit My Turn for more information.

INFORMATION ABOUT SECOND DOSES FROM COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH OFFICES

If you received your first dose of Moderna from the Public Health Placerville office, you should have received an email  with information about how to register for a Moderna second shot only clinic to be held February 18th. If you haven't received an email invitation to schedule your second dose, please contact eochealth@edso.org. Emails to those who received their first dose from the Public Health office in South Lake Tahoe will be sent by 2/19/21 for upcoming clinics.

If you received your first dose of Pfizer from the Public Health Office, you will receive an email by 2/19/21 with information about how to register for a Pfizer second shot only clinic to be held in late February-late March.

PG&E Wildfire Prevention Work in El Dorado County

On February 5th PG&E submitted its 2021 Wildfire Mitigation Plan (WMP), found HERE, to the CPUC detailing plans to reduce wildfire risk, increase situational awareness, and deploy new technology and models to help keep customers and communities safe.

Additional Resources for Customers

To help customers plan if PG&E will need to turn off power to prevent major wildfires, they have developed a series of educational videos that can be found at pge.com/pspsvideos
and kidsemergencysafety.com.

They still have a lot of work to do and will continue to listen and work hard every day to further reduce wildfire risks and lessen the impact of PSPS events on customers and communities.  pge.com/wildfiresafety.
