The County of El Dorado is recruiting applicants for Department Systems Analyst. This recruitment will establish a list for the purpose of filling current and future full time, part time and extra help vacancies for at least three (3) months. If you are interested in the position of Department Systems Analyst within any County department, please submit your application.

We currently have the following vacancies:
  • One (1) full time vacancy in the Health and Human Services Agency, Behavioral Health Division, located in Placerville, CA. 
    • The ideal candidate will have experience in supporting, updating, maintaining and implementing changes and improvements to a billing software system. 

A training and experience evaluation may be utilized to determine an applicant's ranking for referral to specific vacancies.  Based upon the information in the application and/or responses to supplemental questions, the applicant's education, training and experience will be evaluated using a pre-determined formula.

DEFINITION
Under general supervision, performs a variety of professional, technical, and analytical duties in the operation of large complex, stand-alone department specific computer system(s); analyses department systems including applications, operating systems, hardware, networking with outside systems/agencies, and system programming requirements; develops and maintains department applications and systems; may provide lead direction to assigned department staff.

DISTINGUISHED CHARACTERISTICS
This is an experienced class with responsibility for the analysis, installation, modification, maintenance, operation and documentation of complex stand-alone computer system(s) in a specific department. The incumbent is fully responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of the assigned system(s). System problems are normally resolved by the incumbent, or referred to the vendor for correction. The incumbent may also be assigned responsibility for lead direction of assigned department staff in the performance of computer system functions. This class is distinguished from the Supervising Department Systems Analyst in that the latter is a full supervisory level classification. This class is further distinguished form that of Sr. Information Technology Department Coordinator in that the latter works in conjunction with Information Services staff to develop modify and maintain department systems.
