Spring is Here!

Spring has finally sprung! And along with the warmer weather, our local critters are emerging once again. Our County health officials want to remind you that residents should take steps to protect themselves from mosquitoes and be aware of the serious risks that mosquitoes present to their health including West Nile , Saint Louis encephalitis and (potentially) dengue, chikungunya and Zika viruses. Whoa - that's a lot of reasons to protect ourselves! Our County Vector Control is hard at work, responding to resident complaints and providing surveillance and control of mosquito sources in designated areas of our county. For more information, call Vector Control on the West Slope (530) 621-5300 or in the Tahoe Basin (530) 573-3197

In the year ahead, your El Dorado County Board of Supervisors will be focusing on strategic planning for capital improvements, investing in communities and balancing the budget, while improving roads and county services.

It’s been a busy 2017 already and there are many things I’d like to accomplish.

My goals for 2017 are simple:

  • Maintain an environment of respectful conversation and positive change.
  • Protect Tahoe’s fair share funding.
  • Continue to strengthen Tahoe’s voice in County affairs.
  • Bring forward housing options that are affordable to our residents.
  • Reduce traffic congestion on local roads and in neighborhoods.
  •  Improve recreation access and opportunities.
  • Protect and expand services for our most vulnerable population, including children, families, veterans and seniors.
