Public Invited to Participate in Community Art Project on Saturday, October 26th
The City of Culver City and Artist Laureate Katy Krantz welcome you to join a day of community art and input.
The event begins at 10 AM and goes until 2 PM on Saturday, October 26th. Krantz will lead an immersive and hands-on tile making workshop. Completed tiles will be installed on the building as a temporary art installation. The event is for all ages.
It will also be an opportunity to share feedback on what the City should do with the City-owned property at 11029 Washington Boulevard, which it purchased in 2023.
For questions or more information, please email Jesse.Mays@CulverCity.org or call (310) 253-6000. For the event, note that area parking is limited. Please consider walking or riding to the event. If driving, please use street parking.
The property is a 0.2777-acre parcel containing a 4,660 square foot, one-story building with a former retail and office use built in 1953. The site is a corner lot with 20 parking spaces. The parcel is zoned Mixed-Use Corridor 1 - 35 dwelling units per acre.
Between 1953 and 2023, it was used as the Martin B. Retting gun shop. The City has repainted the exterior of the site and installed a fence to secure the parking lot. Krantz installed a temporary mural project on the exterior of the building.
