Learn More about a Proposed Emergency Rescue Vehicle
After analyzing the City's emergency response capabilities, staff recently determined that acquiring a Lenco BearCat Rescue Vehicle would enhance public safety services in Culver City. The rescue vehicle is designed for coordinated police, emergency medical support (EMS) and fire responses to incidents involving active shooters, barricaded suspects and rescue missions.
As a next step, the Culver City Police Department (CCPD) will solicit input from the community and City Council to create a BearCat operations policy.

Results will be used to help determine the City Council's decision. The City Council will consider staff’s recommendation to purchase the BearCat Rescue Vehicle at the March 23, 2020 City Council Meeting.
