Volunteer Opportunities in April 2018

Migration Celebration at Ballona Discovery Park - Saturday April 7, 2018

9:45 AM - 2:30 PM
They are looking for volunteers to help with the following booths: face-painting, music for kids/sing-a-longs, arts & crafts, and science/nature.

Earth Day Weekend is April 21st & 22nd!

Volunteer opportunities:

Children's Earth Day at Star Eco Station
Volunteers will be helping with set up, game and food booths, rides, decorating and post event wrap-up at EcoStation's annual event. Volunteers must be 18+ or at least 15 years old with a chaperone who is over the age of 18. Shifts:

Saturday April 21, 2018
8:00 AM - 12:00 PM; 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Sunday April 22, 2018
7:30 - 11:30 AM, 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM, 2:30 PM - 6:30 PM

Ballona Creek Clean Up w/ Ballona Creek Renaissance
Saturday April 21, 2018 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Rain Garden Restoration w/ The Bay Foundation
Saturday 21, 2018 from 10 a.m.- 1 p.m.

Nested between the Ballona Creek and residential properties, the Culver City Rain Garden captures rain and surface runoff, filters noxious contaminants that would otherwise flow into the Ballona Creek, and beautifies the urban landscape. Your help is needed to weed, water, and maintain the garden to give the newly planted natives time to take root and thrive.

Local Non-Profit Spotlight: Adopt & Shop

Michelson Found Animals Adopt & Shop is a unique store with a mission – Saving Pets. They offer pet adoptions, pet supplies, grooming and dog daycare, all in one location. Their pets come from local shelters and as a nonprofit, all of the profits go back into programs to save more pets. They are in big need of volunteers with flexible schedules to help take care of their adoptable pets while they find happy homes for them. Volunteer opportunities include but are not limited to: feeding, walking dogs, socializing their pets & even gaining some experience with veterinary medicine.
