Dear Friend:

The City of Cerritos is sponsoring Society of Seven With Special Guests in a Benefit Concert for the Philippines. Proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross to assist victims of Typhoon Haiyan.

The concert will be held at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (CCPA) on Thursday, December 19, 7:00 PM. Tickets cost $150, $100, $75, and $50. Eighty percent of the cost is tax deductible.

Named one of the best acts in Las Vegas, Society of Seven delivers performances full of "big voices, a little shtick and a lot of heart," hails The Las Vegas Review-Journal. The one-of-a-kind variety troupe is known for its trademark performances, which merge popular hits and Broadway show tunes in a flashy Las Vegas setting, accentuated by dancing, comedy, and celebrity impersonations. The celebrated Society of Seven, voted the "Best Show in Waikiki" by Honolulu magazine, was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Hawaii Academy of Recording Arts in 2007.

The evening's lineup also includes Filipino R&B and Soul songstress Lhey Bella and award-winning Filipino Folk and Pop singer Nonoy Zuñiga, who has garnered several prestigious honors, including Aliw Awards (the Philippines' equivalent of the Grammys) for "Best Pop Male" vocalist and 1982 "Entertainer of the Year." His acclaimed songs include Never Ever Say Goodbye, Doon Lang, and Kumusta ka.

Philippine Basketball Association Hall of Famer and Pepperdine University Hall of Famer Ricardo Brown will sign autographs and join fans for photos in the lobby. The Cerritos-based business Crooks & Castles will sell typhoon-relief T-shirts in the lobby. Proceeds from the meet-and-greets with Brown and T-shirt sales will be donated to the American Red Cross.

Cerritos Mayor Bruce W. Barrows said: "The people of the Philippines are enduring great hardships due to Typhoon Haiyan. Our hearts go out to those who have lost loved ones and their homes. This concert offers our community a way to come together to support the millions of people who are in need of help."
