Hello,
We need your help! Two important community surveys are underway, and I encourage you to take a few minutes to share your feedback.

Please take a few minutes to complete the WASC ACHS Community Survey.
The City of American Canyon is conducting its National Community Survey (NCS), and we want to hear from you. This Sat., Oct. 3, Wetlands Edge Park will be filled with fall festivities you and your family will not want to miss! Support our American Canyon 4-H families by purchasing your pumpkins at their annual Pumpkin Patch. Then, pop on over to American Canyon Arts Foundation’s Pumpkin Path event. Both are great opportunities to celebrate the season, support local youth and the arts community, and enjoy time with family and friends.
Mark your calendars for Sat., Oct. 10 at Shenandoah Park. The American Canyon Fire Protection District will host it's annual Open House from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Then, starting at 3:00 p.m., celebrate Filipino American History Month at Manila Munchies – Global Pinoy Night Market, our very own Filipino American cultural event here in American Canyon.
Thank you for helping make American Canyon a community where every voice matters and where we come together to celebrate one another. I hope to see you at these upcoming events.
Take Care, Jason B. Holley City Manager

Calling all nonprofit organizations looking to make a difference in American Canyon! The City is now accepting applications for the Community Grant Program, which provides grants to support programs and services that benefit our community. Applications are due Oct. 18. Qualified applications will be reviewed by the Parks and Community Services Commission on Nov. 18, with final recommendations to the City Council on Dec. 10. I encourage eligible organizations to apply for the Community Grant Program and take advantage of this opportunity to make a difference here in American Canyon.
With the November election approaching, it is your opportunity to make your voice heard! The right to vote is something we should never take for granted. Every resident has a role to play in the future of American Canyon, and participating in our election is an opportunity to be a part of that process. Learn about the City Council candidates and the measures on the ballot by visiting the City’s Elections Central webpage Election Central, where you’ll find information about our local election. Make your voice count this November!
Finally, our 2026 Fall Citizens Academy is officially underway! We welcomed 19 participants who live and work in American Canyon. They’re getting a firsthand look at how their local government works and the services it provides every day. Our next session is Wednesday, Oct. 7, and will focus on Community Development. This year’s program will end with a Capstone Project in partnership with the RCD. Participants will plant 50 native oak acorns at the Wetlands to enhance wildlife habitat, expand our urban tree canopy, and create more shade throughout the park. This hands-on project is an opportunity to practice environmental stewardship and make a lasting contribution to our community.
There are many ways to get involved and make a difference in American Canyon. I hope you’ll find an opportunity to get involved and help shape our community’s future.
Together in Service, Mayor Pierre Washington

Fire Hydrant Flow Testing
Every five years, the City of American Canyon, in partnership with the American Canyon Fire Protection District, completes fire hydrant testing as part of the Insurance Services Office (ISO) evaluation. This testing helps maintain American Canyon’s ISO rating, which supports insurance ratings for residents and business owners throughout our community.
Beginning Oct. 19 through Nov. 6, the City’s Water Division will conduct flow and pressure testing of hydrants throughout American Canyon as part of this evaluation. As crews move through the community to complete this necessary work, you may see hydrants flowing and temporary traffic controls. Residents and business owners may experience temporary changes in water pressure or water discoloration. If discoloration occurs, run your cold-water faucet until the water clears, and please avoid washing white or light-colored clothing while testing is occurring in your area.
