Three Arrested in American Canyon Following Identity Theft, Stolen Credit Card Fraud, and Theft Investigation
AMERICAN CANYON, Calif., July 24, 2026 — On Thursday, July 23, 2026, just before 2:30 p.m. American Canyon Police officers stopped a gray Honda Accord as it was leaving Walmart after receiving a report that the vehicle was associated with three individuals suspected of stealing merchandise and attempting to use a stolen credit card.
Officers identified the occupants as 31-year-old Andrea Gardiner of Rohnert Park, 41-year-old Matthew Washington of Vallejo, and 39-year-old Major Jordan of Vallejo.
Officers determined Gardiner was on probation in Sonoma County for identity theft and possession of an illegal weapon. During a search of the vehicle, officers located stolen merchandise taken from Walmart. All three were found to be in possession of stolen identification cards and credit cards. Gardiner was also found in possession of suspected methamphetamine and a Billy club, which is a prohibited weapon.
As the investigation continued, officers reviewed Walmart surveillance video and learned the suspects had attempted to use a credit card that had been stolen during a recent burglary in Suisun City. Investigators also learned that a Glock handgun had been reported stolen during the same burglary.
Gardiner, Washington, and Jordan were arrested and booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections on charges related to theft, identity theft, and conspiracy. In addition, Gardiner was arrested for violating her probation, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a prohibited weapon.
