Hello,
I want to thank everyone who joined us at our annual Memorial Day Ceremony. Together, we paid tribute to the fallen heroes whose courage, sacrifice and devotion to our country will never be forgotten. We remain forever grateful to the families who carry their legacy forward and to all those who continue to serve our nation.
Please join us for several upcoming events that celebrate the diversity and vibrancy of American Canyon. We are hosting a Pride Month Flag Raising Ceremony on Monday, June 1, and a Juneteenth Flag Raising Ceremony on Wednesday, June 10. Both ceremonies will take place at 12 p.m. at the City Hall flagpole, and all are welcome to attend as we come together in recognition, reflection and celebration.
Of course, you won’t want to miss the Chamber of Commerce’s Meet Me In The Streets event series, which begins Wednesday, June 10 at 5 p.m. on American Canyon Road. The first event will include a collaboration with the American Canyon Arts Foundation featuring a Juneteenth celebration with music, culture, local businesses, food and community connection. Additional Meet Me In The Streets dates include July 8, August 12, and September 2. I hope to see you there.
In case you didn’t know, American Canyon’s own Napa Valley Ruins and Gardens (aka “The Ruins”) has quickly become the Bay Area’s newest hot spot for entertainment. You can find the upcoming lineup here. Also, keep an eye for a new “food truck roundup” beginning next month on the pumpkin patch site.
Lastly, congratulations to all the American Canyon High School seniors graduating this year. Graduation marks an important milestone and reflects years of hard work, perseverance and dedication. We are proud of your accomplishments and wish you continued success in all that lies ahead.

As we approach Juneteenth, we have an important opportunity as a community to reflect, learn and celebrate together.
Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, the day the last enslaved African Americans in the United States learned of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. It stands as both a celebration of freedom and a reminder of the ongoing pursuit of equality, justice and opportunity for all.
For many Black Americans, including members of our own American Canyon community, Juneteenth carries deep historical and personal significance. It is a time to honor the resilience, achievements, culture, and contributions of Black Americans throughout our nation’s history and within our own community.
This year, I invite you to join us for two meaningful community events that recognize and celebrate Juneteenth.
On Wednesday, June 10, the City of American Canyon will host a Juneteenth Flag Raising Ceremony at 12 p.m., located at the City Hall flagpole. Later that same evening, during the Chamber of Commerce’s Meet Me In The Streets event, the American Canyon Arts Foundation will host a special Juneteenth celebration featuring culture, music, food and community connection. Both these events provide an opportunity to come together to celebrate our cultural identity while also supporting local businesses and enjoying the vibrant spirit that makes American Canyon such a special place to call home.
I encourage everyone to participate in these events, learn more about the significance of Juneteenth, and join us in celebrating the diversity and strength of our community. Together, we continue building a city where everyone feels seen, valued and welcomed.

2026 National Night Out Sign Ups
A safer, stronger community starts right on your block. Join neighborhoods across American Canyon in celebrating National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 6 - 8 p.m.
This annual event brings neighbors together to build relationships, strengthen trust and foster meaningful connections with the American Canyon Police Department and American Canyon Fire Protection District. Throughout the evening, public safety personnel will visit registered block parties across town.

 Eucalyptus Drive Tree Removal Project
We will begin a tree renewal project along Eucalyptus Drive on Monday, June 8, between Wetlands Edge Road and Donaldson Way.
The project includes the removal and replacement of 29 aging Cypress trees that have significantly declined and outlived their healthy lifespan. While these trees have long contributed to the character and environmental value of the corridor, replacement is necessary to help maintain the long-term safety, health and sustainability of the area.
The City remains committed to environmental stewardship and maintaining welcoming public spaces for the community. Replacement planting is planned for Fall 2026 and will include more sustainable, site-appropriate trees and landscaping to support the long-term health and beauty of the corridor.
Work is expected to continue through Friday, June 26, with temporary traffic impacts and construction activity occurring during weekday work hours.
