January 16, 2026
Hello,
2026 promises to be unique. It’s Year of the Fire Horse, which only reoccurs every 60-years. Already we’ve withstood rainstorms and historical King Tides – more is yet to come. From Team AC you can expect intense, passionate, and transformative energy to go along with our enthusiasm, ambition, and a drive for progress. We are challenging old patterns and embracing change.
We begin by remembering Martin Luther King. Dr. King's legacy reminds us that service to others is central to building a better world, and American Canyon has long been a community rooted in service. City office will be closed, and I invite you to join the American Canyon Community & Parks Foundation for their MLK Day Wetlands Cleanup from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
That same commitment to service continues through the Gateway Award, the City's highest honor recognizing exceptional community service. Nominations are now open, and I encourage you to nominate someone whose time and dedication have made a meaningful difference in American Canyon. The Gateway Award winner will be announced at the Community Recognition Dinner on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the DoubleTree Hotel and Spa. Tickets are now available for purchase.
Please join us for this year’s State of the City, where we will reflect on our accomplishments from 2025 and share priorities for the year ahead. The City Council will host two Town Hall meetings:
Be on the look out for the State of the City booklet, which will be mailed to your home before the Town Hall meetings.
Thank you for staying engaged and for the many ways you contribute to our community. I look forward to seeing you soon.
Take care,
Jason B. Holley City Manager

Happy New Year! As we begin the year ahead, I want to thank you for your continued engagement in our community. Over the past year, the City Council and I have worked to make progress on the issues that matter most to you, while recognizing there is always an opportunity to listen, learn, and do more.
That's why I'm inviting you to take part in a short community survey about our performance over the past year. Your honest feedback helps guide our priorities, improve how we serve you, and ensure we're moving our city in the right direction. I encourage you to take a moment to participate and help shape the year ahead.
Together in Service, Mayor Pierre Washington
