American Canyon Police Recover Multiple Unregistered Firearms in Three Unrelated Arrests
AMERICAN CANYON, Calif., Nov. 25, 2025 — On Sunday, Nov. 23, just before 11:00 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop on Highway 29 near American Canyon Road after the driver, 23-year-old American Canyon resident Amner Carillo-Espinoza, ran a red light and was found to be driving without a front license plate. Officers observed an open tray of marijuana in the front seat and, during a subsequent search, located a loaded, unregistered Glock 27 firearm inside Carillo-Espinoza’s backpack.
Monday morning, an officer contacted 21-year-old Oakland resident Deonte Cormier in the parking lot of Shenandoah Park next to ACPD as he sat inside a vehicle displaying two different license plates. An open container of marijuana was visible inside the car. Officers searched the vehicle and found a loaded Glock 22 .40 Caliber, unregistered firearm on the floorboard.
Monday evening, just before midnight, officers stopped a white Kia sedan near Highway 29 and Mini Drive that was suspected of being involved in a recent vehicle theft in American Canyon. As the vehicle pulled over, the front passenger, 24-year-old Benicia resident Elijah O’Connell, immediately fled running away on foot. Officers located O’Connell hiding in a nearby shopping center, along with his discarded backpack in a bush. His backpack contained a loaded, unregistered Glock 17 firearm equipped with an extended magazine, and cocaine was found on his person.
All three individuals were arrested and booked into the Napa County Jail on charges related to their respective incidents.
