The Wall That Heals Arrives in American Canyon – Sole Northern California Stop
AMERICAN CANYON, CA, October 14, 2025 — American Canyon is the only city in Northern California selected to host The Wall That Heals, a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, in 2025.
You’re invited to cover our opening ceremony on Oct. 16 at 6 p.m. The opening ceremony will also honor Bay Area Hometown Heroes (regional veterans).
Other media coverage opportunities include:
- Interviewing Mayor Pierre Washington, Councilmember Brando Cruz, and other local leaders about the significance of the exhibit and community involvement.
- Covering other special ceremonies at the exhibit:
- Oct. 14 at 1 p.m. – Welcome Home Parade (Residents will line the streets to show their support as the Wall itself travels into the City)
- Oct. 18 at 6 p.m. – “In Memory” Ceremony (commemorating those lost, with The Wall lit teal for PTSD awareness)
- Oct. 19 at 1:30 p.m. – Closing Ceremony
The Wall That Heals will be on display at Independence Park (20 Benton Way) in American Canyon from Oct. 16-19, 2025. Open 24 hours a day and free to the public, the exhibit honors more than 3 million Americans who served in the Vietnam War and bears the names of the 58,281 who made the ultimate sacrifice.
