American Canyon Police Arrest Vallejo Man After Hit-And-Run

AMERICAN CANYON, Calif., Sep. 24, 2025 — On Tuesday afternoon, an ACPD officer stopped 24-year-old Vallejo resident Laron Hamilton for driving while using his cellphone at Eucalyptus and Donaldson Way. During the stop, Hamilton attempted to flee. 

The officer gave chase as Hamilton drove recklessly, crashing into an uninvolved motorist before hitting a retaining wall at the intersection of Rio Del Mar and Los Altos. Hamilton ran from the crash but was caught by the officer.

Hamilton, who is on felony probation in Solano, Sacramento and Alameda counties, was booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections on two warrants and multiple other charges, including:

  • Evading an officer, wrong way
  • Evading an officer with willful disregard for public safety
  • Resisting or obstructing an officer
  • Hit-and-run
  • Using a cellphone while driving
  • Expired registration
